Description

The P-5GS6 5G Sub-6 GHz pluggable interface module is a cellular modem module for Cisco IoT Industrial Routers. This variant uses the EM9293 modem and supports 5G Standalone (Release 16), adding 5G NR Sub-6 GHz (FR1) connectivity to industrial and IoT WAN deployments, with fallback to 4G LTE and 3G WCDMA.

The module provides four SMA cellular antenna ports (Antenna 0 to 3) and one SMA GPS port, and supports dual SIM operation with a status LED for each SIM. A Service LED shows the active technology: yellow for 3G, green for 4G LTE and blue for 5G. Band coverage includes 23 listed 5G NR transmit bands, 25 listed 4G LTE transmit bands and six 3G WCDMA bands, so it suits multi-region and multi-carrier roll-outs. FDD Band 30 can be disabled for vehicular applications.

It requires IOS XE release 17.15.1a or later and shares its face plate with the P-5GS6-GL. Each IoT router supports a maximum of two pluggable modules, in any combination of 5G and 4G PIMs. The antenna mapping is designed around the Cisco 5G-ANTM-O-4-B antenna, with MAIN 0 to ANT 0, MAIN 1 to ANT 1, DIV 0 to ANT 2, DIV 1 to ANT 3 and GNSS to the GPS port.
