Description

This Cisco 800G OSFP transceiver is built for high-density data centre, high-performance computing and AI network links, as well as enterprise core and distribution and service provider applications where 800G ports need to break out or connect as two 400G channels over single-mode fibre.

It carries 2x400GBASE-LR4 using 1310 nm CWDM4 wavelengths and reaches up to 10 km over single-mode fibre (SMF). The module uses dual duplex LC connectors, one duplex pair for each 400G channel, and is supplied in the 800G OSFP form factor, so it needs an OSFP port on the host switch or router.

The 2x400G LR4 and 10 km SMF reach set this module apart from shorter-reach OSFP options, making it suited to campus, inter-building and inter-row runs that exceed multimode or short-reach single-mode limits.
