Description

The IRM-NIM-RS232 is a pluggable network interface module that adds eight RS232 serial ports to the Cisco Catalyst IR8300 Rugged Series Router. It is built for Industrial IoT deployments where legacy serial equipment, such as SCADA systems, RTUs and other field devices, needs to connect through a modern IP router. Typical environments include utilities, transport and oil and gas.

The module provides 8 x RS232 serial ports. Because it is a pluggable interface module, serial connectivity can be added or changed on the router without replacing the whole chassis, so existing serial devices can run alongside IP connectivity on the same platform.

It is designed for the Cisco Catalyst IR8300 Rugged Series Router and is compatible with the IR8340-K9. It is not intended for the IR1001, IR1005, IR1101, IR1833, IR1835 or IR8140H models.
