Description

This Cisco enhanced GPU extender bracket is a mechanical accessory for the UCS X-Series Modular System. It replaces the legacy straight extender bracket fitted to NVIDIA H200 NVL GPUs so the card is properly supported in the GPU cages of the UCS X580p PCIe Node. It suits teams retrofitting H200 NVL cards, including cards sourced outside Cisco, into the X580p for generative AI training, fine-tuning and LLM inference.

The bracket is a passive part with no power draw, ports or throughput figures. It is specified for the NVIDIA H200 NVL (Cisco PID UCSX-GPU-H200-NVL), a 600W, 141GB, 2-slot NVL2 full-height, full-length GPU. The X580p GPU cages accept FHFL dual-slot GPUs, with two cages per node. The legacy straight bracket can be incompatible with these cages, which is the reason for the enhanced bracket. No licence is required for the bracket itself.

It is used with the Cisco UCS X580p PCIe Node (UCSX-580P-U) in a UCS X9508 chassis with UCS X9516 X-Fabric modules. The H200 NVL GPUs it supports can be paired with the UCSX-NVL2-H200 NVLink bridge, and the node works alongside UCS X210c M7/M8 and X215c M8 compute nodes.
