Description

The Cisco QSFP28 100G ZR High TX Power coherent optics module is a tunable C-band DWDM transceiver in the QSFP28 form factor. It is designed for edge, access, aggregation, enterprise and campus networks, 5G x-haul, and legacy ROADM-based DWDM infrastructure, and suits IP over DWDM deployments in Cisco Routed Optical Networking.

This MX2-A1 variant delivers up to 0 dBm output power within a 6W power profile and uses dual-polarization QPSK modulation at a 111.8 Gbps line rate. It tunes across 191.3 to 196.2 THz on a flexible grid with 6.25 GHz granularity, and 50 GHz grid operation is supported. Reach extends up to 160 km on unamplified point-to-point links and up to 500 km on amplified DWDM links, with receiver sensitivity of -32 dBm using SC-FEC. It supports both SC-FEC and G.709 GFEC, so it can interoperate with legacy OTN transponders. The extended operating case temperature of -20 to +80 C makes it suitable for harsh outdoor environments.

It connects over single-mode fibre with a duplex LC connector and supports SFF-based I2C and CMIS-based module management. It works in Cisco switches and routers listed in the Cisco Transceiver Modules Compatibility Matrix.
