Description

The Secure Firewall 1220CX is a compact desktop security appliance from Cisco's Secure Firewall 1200 Series, built to extend enterprise security policy and threat inspection to users and devices in branch offices and smaller sites. This SKU runs Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) software, so it suits teams that manage their perimeter with ASA rather than Secure Firewall Threat Defense.

The 1220CX provides 8x 1000BASE-T Gigabit Ethernet ports and 2x SFP+ slots that take 1G or 10G transceivers. Under ASA software it is rated at 15 Gbps stateful firewall throughput (1500B UDP) and 12 Gbps multiprotocol throughput, with 12 Gbps IPsec VPN throughput (450B UDP), 250K new connections per second, 300K concurrent connections and up to 300 VPN peers. A 480GB integrated SSD is fitted, and active/standby high availability is supported.

Power comes from a single external AC supply rated at 100-240V AC, with a typical draw of 32W and a 40W maximum. The unit has no PoE. It sits on a desk or can be rack-mounted or wall-mounted using the optional Cisco kits, and the ASA software image is what separates it from the Threat Defense (-TD-K9) models in the same range.
