Blue Cable Co 40GbE QSFP+ passive direct attach copper (DAC) cables provide a power-efficient, plug-and-play alternative to optical fibre for short-reach 40G connections between QSFP+ ports, compatible with NVIDIA Mellanox platforms. Available in lengths from 1m to 5m, these passive copper cables require no additional power and deliver reliable 40Gb/s Ethernet connectivity across four lanes. A1: These passive DAC cables are compatible with NVIDIA Mellanox platforms equipped with QSFP+ ports supporting 40GbE direct attach copper connections. They are designed as compatible replacements for the OEM MC2210130, MC2210128, and MC2210126 series cables. Contact our team to confirm fit for a specific switch or adapter before ordering.

Q2: What lengths are available, and which should I choose?
A2: Five lengths are available: 1m, 2m, 3m, 4m, and 5m. For within-rack connections between adjacent switches or servers, 1m or 2m is typically sufficient. The 3m to 5m options suit connections spanning rack bays or wider row configurations. Select the length variant from the dropdown above.

Q3: Are these active or passive cables — do they need power?
A3: These are passive DAC cables. They contain no active components and draw no meaningful power, consuming a maximum of 0.1W from the host QSFP+ ports. This makes them a more power-efficient and cost-effective option than optical transceivers and fibre for short-reach 40G links within or between adjacent racks.
