Description

This 100 Gigabit Ethernet QSFP28 optical transceiver uses 100GBase-SWDM4 signalling over duplex multi-mode fibre with an LC connector. It suits short-reach 100G data centre and campus aggregation or uplink links on HPE and Aruba switches with QSFP28 ports.

The module provides a single 100GBase-SWDM4 network interface and a reach of up to 100 m over multi-mode optical fibre. SWDM4 carries 100G over a duplex LC pair, so existing duplex multi-mode cabling can be reused rather than moving to parallel MPO fibre, which makes it practical for upgrading 10G or 40G multi-mode runs to 100G.

Enquire with XS Network Tech for new or used pricing and availability.

FAQs

Q: What fibre does this transceiver use?
A: It runs over duplex multi-mode optical fibre with LC connectors, with a reach of up to 100 m.

Q: Which ports does it fit?
A: It is a QSFP28 module for HPE and Aruba switches with QSFP28 ports. Check your switch model's supported optics list before ordering.

Q: What does SWDM4 mean?
A: SWDM4 is short wavelength division multiplexing over four wavelengths, which carries 100G across a single duplex multi-mode fibre pair rather than parallel fibre.

Q: Where would I use this module?
A: It suits short-reach 100G aggregation and uplink links within a data centre or campus, particularly where duplex multi-mode cabling is already installed.
