Description

QSFP28 100G Active Optical Cable with integrated multimode fiber provides a low-latency, low-power 100GbE link between QSFP28 ports over 7 meters. SR4-class 850nm optics deliver reliable short-reach connectivity for leaf–spine and ToR applications with excellent EMI immunity versus copper DAC. Hot-swappable and plug-and-play for QSFP28 100G ports; ensure the coding matches your switch or NIC platform.

Features

- 100G QSFP28-to-QSFP28 integrated optical cable
- SR4-class 850nm multimode optics for short-reach links
- Low power and low latency compared to discrete transceiver+fiber
- Excellent EMI immunity versus copper DAC
- Hot-swappable, plug-and-play operation
- Ideal for leaf–spine and ToR connections within or between racks

FAQs

Q: Is this AOC compatible with QSFP28 100GbE ports?
A: Yes. It is designed for QSFP28 100G ports that accept AOC assemblies; select the correct vendor coding for your platform.

Q: What is the difference between AOC and DAC?
A: AOC uses optical fiber and 850nm optics for longer reach and superior EMI immunity; DAC uses copper, is typically lower cost, but has shorter reach.

Q: Can this cable be used for 4x25G breakout?
A: No. This is a straight 100G QSFP28-to-QSFP28 AOC; use a breakout-specific assembly for 4x25G.

Q: Does it require separate fiber patch cords?
A: No. The multimode fiber is integrated into the AOC; just plug the QSFP28 ends into the ports.

Q: Where is this best used?
A: Short-reach 100G links inside racks or between adjacent racks in leaf–spine and ToR deployments up to 7 meters.
