Description

The Firepower 4120 NGIPS bundle is a 1RU modular security appliance from the Firepower 4100 Series, now branded Cisco Secure Firewall 4100. It is built for data-centre and internet-edge inline intrusion prevention, and for service-provider deployments that need several security services on one platform.

This SKU is the NGIPS bundle of the 4120, fitted with a single 12-core processor and 128 GB DDR4 memory. It has eight fixed 1/10GbE SFP+ ports (Ethernet 1/1 to 1/8) and two network module bays that take 1/10/40G modules, reaching up to 24 interfaces with two 8-port modules. Hardware-bypass modules are available for inline deployments. Management is through a 1GbE SFP port, with an RJ-45 console and a USB 2.0 Type A port. Power comes from hot-swappable 1+1 400 W AC supplies, with a DC option, and six hot-swappable fan modules provide 3+1 redundancy.

The appliance runs Cisco Secure Firewall Threat Defense, Cisco Secure Firewall ASA or FXOS software. The 4100 series is not supported on Secure Firewall Threat Defense 7.3 and later or ASA 9.19 and later. Check the Cisco Firepower 4100/9300 FXOS compatibility matrix for supported software versions.
