Description

The NVIDIA RTX 4000 Ada Generation is a single-slot professional workstation graphics card built on the Ada Lovelace architecture. It is aimed at product engineering and CAD, architectural visualisation, rendering, CAE simulation, video and content creation, data science and generative AI work on the desktop.

It carries 20GB of ECC GDDR6 memory on a 160-bit interface for 360 GB/s of bandwidth, with 6,144 CUDA cores, 192 fourth-generation Tensor Cores and 48 third-generation RT Cores. Peak single-precision performance is 26.7 TFLOPS, with 61.8 TFLOPS of RT Core and 327.6 TFLOPS of Tensor performance. This is the full-height blower version with four DisplayPort 1.4a outputs, and it connects over PCIe 4.0 x16. Total board power is 130W.

Power is delivered through one CEM5 16-pin auxiliary connector. The card works in full-height, single-slot workstation chassis and is compatible with NVIDIA Quadro Sync II. NVLink is not supported. No licence or subscription is required, as standard NVIDIA RTX Enterprise and Studio drivers are used.

Q: Does the RTX 4000 Ada need a licence or subscription?
A: No. It uses the standard NVIDIA RTX Enterprise or Studio drivers, with no licence or subscription required.

Q: What power connection does it need?
A: It has a 130W total board power and needs one CEM5 16-pin auxiliary power connector. A power adaptor can supply up to 150W from a single PCIe 8-pin connector to the CEM5 16-pin connector.

Q: Which slot and chassis does it suit?
A: It fits a PCIe 4.0 x16 slot, which is backward compatible with earlier PCIe generations. It is a full-height, single-slot card with a blower cooler, so it suits a wide range of workstation chassis.

Q: Does it support NVLink?
A: No. NVLink is not supported on this card. It is compatible with NVIDIA Quadro Sync II for synchronising multiple displays.

Q: How does this version differ from the SFF and HW Sync variants?
A: This is the full-height blower version with four DisplayPort 1.4a outputs, rather than the small form factor or hardware sync variant.
