Description

The LinkX MCP1600 100G QSFP28 DAC is a passive direct attach copper cable for short-reach 100Gb/s Ethernet. It suits top-of-rack switch-to-server and switch-to-switch connections in data centres and HPC environments, and is a low-cost, power-efficient alternative to fibre optics for these links.

This version is 2.5m long, built from 30 AWG copper, with a black jacket and QSFP28 connectors on both ends. It carries 100GbE as four 25GbE lanes and is the CA-25G-L (RS-FEC) variant under IEEE 802.3bj. The connectors are SFF-8665 compliant and the cable is hot pluggable, running from a single 3.3V supply with an operating case temperature of 0 to 70 C.

It works with QSFP28 ports on NVIDIA and Mellanox 100GbE Ethernet switches and adapters. Because this is the RS-FEC version, the host port must support RS-FEC.
