Q: Will this 5 m passive DAC work on any QSFP28 100G port?
A: It works on devices that support passive QSFP28 DACs. Check that your switch/NIC enables 5 m passive DAC operation.

Q: Why 26AWG for 5 m?
A: Thicker 26AWG conductors reduce attenuation, enabling stable performance at the 5 m length.

Q: Is there any power consumption?
A: No. Passive DACs consume virtually zero power compared to active optical modules.

Q: Can this be used for switch-to-switch uplinks?
A: Yes, for adjacent rack or in-rack short-reach connections within 5 m.

Q: Does it support breakout to 4x25G?
A: No. This is a straight QSFP28-to-QSFP28 cable. For breakout, choose a 100G-to-4x25G breakout DAC or AOC.
