Description

High-bandwidth active optical cable for short-reach 400G interconnects. QSFP‑DD connectors on both ends deliver 8x50G PAM4 lanes over multimode fiber at 850 nm. Ideal for switch-to-switch or switch-to-adapter links where low weight, tight bend radius, and EMI immunity are required. Blue pull-tabs provide quick identification and easy extraction.

Features

Plug-and-play 400G connectivity with QSFP-DD on both ends
- Lightweight, flexible multimode fiber construction
- Immunity to electromagnetic interference
- Low power per end compared to discrete transceivers plus patch cords
- Blue pull-tab for easy identification and handling

Warranty

All products sold by XS Network Tech include a 12-month warranty on both new and used items. Our in-house technical team thoroughly tests used hardware prior to sale to ensure enterprise-grade reliability.

FAQs

Q: Is this cable compatible with any QSFP-DD 400G port?
A: Yes, it is designed for QSFP-DD 400G ports on switches and adapters that support AOCs. Always verify the platform’s qualified parts list.

Q: What is the difference between an AOC and a DAC?
A: An AOC uses optical fiber and integrated optics for longer reach and lower weight, while a DAC is copper-based, heavier, and limited to very short distances.

Q: Can this AOC be used for breakout to lower speeds?
A: No, this is a straight QSFP-DD to QSFP-DD 400G cable. Use dedicated breakout assemblies for 2x200G or 4x100G if required by your platform.

Q: Does it require external fiber patch cords?
A: No. AOCs are integrated cables with QSFP‑DD modules at each end and do not require separate patch cords.
