Description

High-density 400G active optical cable for leaf–spine and server uplinks. The integrated QSFP‑DD to QSFP‑DD AOC uses 8x50G PAM4 lanes over multimode fiber at 850nm to deliver predictable, low‑latency performance in congested racks and rows. Factory-terminated optics simplify deployment, reduce EMI versus copper, and eliminate fiber cleaning/inspection associated with pluggable transceivers and patch cords. Ideal for short‑reach 400GbE switch-to-switch or switch-to-adapter connections in modern data centers.

Features

400G aggregate bandwidth with 8x50G PAM4 lanes
- Plug-and-play QSFP-DD to QSFP-DD integrated optical link
- Low power, low latency, and reduced EMI compared to copper
- Simplified cabling with no separate optics or patch cords
- Consistent performance at 850nm over integrated multimode fiber
- Lightweight, flexible design for dense top-of-rack deployments

Warranty

All products sold by XS Network Tech include a 12-month warranty on both new and used items. Our in-house technical team thoroughly tests used hardware prior to sale to ensure enterprise-grade reliability.

FAQs

Q: Is this AOC compatible with any QSFP-DD 400G port?
A: It is designed for standards-compliant QSFP-DD 400G ports on switches and adapters. Check device release notes for qualified cable types and supported lane configurations.

Q: Can this be used for InfiniBand as well as Ethernet?
A: Use depends on the host port’s supported protocols. Many QSFP-DD ports are for 400GbE; some platforms may also support other protocols. Verify with the platform documentation.

Q: What is the difference between an AOC and a DAC?
A: An AOC uses optical fiber and integrated transceivers for longer reach and lower EMI, while a DAC is copper-based for very short distances and higher thickness/weight.

Q: Does it require separate transceivers or patch cords?
A: No. As an AOC, optics and fiber are factory-integrated. It plugs directly into QSFP-DD ports at both ends.

Q: What bend radius or handling precautions should I observe?
A: Avoid sharp bends, kinks, or pulling on the cable body. Maintain a gentle bend radius and use the pull tab for insertion/removal.
