Description

The NVIDIA Quantum QM8790 is a 1U, 40-port HDR 200Gb/s InfiniBand edge switch built on the Mellanox Quantum ASIC, offering 16 Tb/s of non-blocking switching capacity with sub-130ns port-to-port latency. This unmanaged (externally managed) variant has no onboard x86 CPU and is configured through UFM or an external subnet manager. It ships with two hot-swappable AC power supplies, P2C airflow and a rail kit, making it well suited to top-of-rack leaf connectivity and HPC or AI cluster fabrics.

A: No. The QM8790 is an unmanaged, externally managed switch with no onboard x86 CPU, so MLNX-OS and a subnet manager are not on board. It is managed externally, for example through UFM or an external subnet manager.
