Description

QSFP-DD800 transceiver providing two independent 400G LR4-10 links over single-mode fiber up to 10 km. Designed for 800G ports operating in 2x400G breakout mode across metro edge and leaf/spine cores. Uses CWDM4 optics around 1310 nm with dual CS connectors; host-side FEC required. Supports DOM and interoperates with standards-compliant 400GBASE-LR4-10 on the far end using CS.

Features

- Dual 400G LR4-10 links from one QSFP-DD800 slot
- 10 km reach over SMF for metro and campus backbones
- CS connectors reduce panel density and maintain polarity
- Standards-based for multi-vendor interoperability
- Digital diagnostics for visibility and troubleshooting
- KP4 FEC compatibility for reliable high-speed links

FAQs

Q: What type of connector does this use?
A: Dual CS connectors—each 400G link uses one CS interface.

Q: Is it compatible with standard 400G LR4-10 on the other end?
A: Yes, it interops with 400GBASE-LR4-10 optics using CS connectors.

Q: What fiber should I deploy?
A: OS2 single-mode fiber is recommended for 10 km reach.

Q: Does it require FEC?
A: Yes, KP4 FEC on the host is required for PAM4 modulation.

Q: Can I run it in a non-breakout 800G mode?
A: No, this module is intended for 2x400G breakout operation.
