Description

High-density QSFP-DD800 optical transceiver delivering two independent 400G FR4 links over single-mode fiber up to 2 km. Ideal for breaking out an 800G port into 2x400G on spine/leaf uplinks and data center fabrics. CWDM4 optics around 1310 nm with paired dual LC duplex connectors; host-side FEC required. Supports digital diagnostics (DOM) and is interoperable with standard-compliant 400GBASE-FR4 on the far end using LC.

Features

- 2x400G breakout from a single QSFP-DD800 slot
- Standards-based 400GBASE-FR4 for broad interoperability
- Long-reach 2 km over SMF for campus and data center interconnects
- Paired dual LC duplex connectors for flexible patching
- Digital diagnostics for proactive monitoring
- Host KP4 FEC compatibility for robust PAM4 signaling

FAQs

Q: Will this work in any 800G port?
A: Yes, provided the switch/ router port supports 2x400G breakout and 400GBASE-FR4 optics.

Q: What fiber and connectors are required?
A: Two LC duplex SMF runs (OS2) are required—one for each 400G link.

Q: Can each 400G side connect to a standard 400G FR4 port?
A: Yes, it interoperates with 400GBASE-FR4 on the remote end using LC connectors.

Q: Is digital diagnostics monitoring supported?
A: Yes, DOM/DDM is supported for real-time optical monitoring.

Q: How far can it reach?
A: Up to 2 km on SMF, subject to link budget and fiber quality.
