FAQs

Q: Is this cable hot-swappable?
A: Yes. The integrated SFP28 modules are hot-swappable in compliant SFP28 ports.

Q: Is this AOC multimode or single-mode?
A: It uses multimode fiber with 850 nm VCSEL optics.

Q: Can I change the length or extend it with patch cords?
A: No. AOCs are fixed-length assemblies. For longer distances, use 25G transceivers with patch fiber.

Q: Will this work on non-Juniper switches?
A: It is Juniper-coded. Some third-party devices may accept it, but interoperability depends on vendor port coding policies.

Q: What’s the difference between AOC and DAC?
A: AOC uses optical fiber for longer reach and better EMI immunity at low weight; DAC uses copper for very short links and slightly lower cost.
