FAQs

Technical Specifications

FAQs

Q: Will this work over OM3 fiber?
A: SWDM4 can operate over OM3 at reduced distances compared to OM4. For full 100 m reach, use OM4 per the transceiver specification.

Q: Is it interoperable with 100GBASE-SR4 modules?
A: No. SWDM4 uses LC duplex and different optical signaling from SR4, which uses MPO-12. Use SWDM4 modules on both ends.

Q: Do I need FEC to achieve the specified reach?
A: FEC may be required depending on the host platform and link conditions. Refer to the platform documentation.

Q: What connector and fiber patch cords are required?
A: Use LC duplex multimode patch cords and OM4 (or OM5) fiber for up to 100 m reach.
