Q: Is this FXS or FXO?
A: It is an FXS module. It provides analog line voltage to connect phones or fax machines.

Q: Does it work in ISR G2 (2900/3900)?
A: VIC2 modules are not supported in many ISR G2 platforms. For ISR G2, use VIC3 equivalents. Check the hardware compatibility list for your chassis.

Q: Do I need PVDM/DSP resources?
A: Yes, DSP resources are required on the router for voice features such as conferencing, transcoding, and fax relay.

Q: Can it power an analog phone’s ringer?
A: Yes. As an FXS interface, it supplies tip-and-ring voltage and ringing to analog endpoints.
