FAQs

Q: Does this card include an NT1?
A: No. It is an S/T interface. In TE mode you connect to an external NT1 or network S/T; in NT mode you present S/T to endpoints.

Q: What is the difference between NT and TE mode?
A: TE connects the router as customer equipment to the ISDN network. NT allows the router to behave as network termination for ISDN endpoints such as phones or PBXs.

Q: Can I connect analog phones?
A: No. This is a digital ISDN BRI S/T interface. Use appropriate analog voice interfaces for analog devices.

Q: Are DSP resources required?
A: Yes, voice features require available DSP (PVDM) resources on the host router.
