FAQs

Q: How does SL4 differ from SR4?
A: Both are short-reach MMF standards using MPO-12, but SL4 is specified for shorter links (up to 30 m on OM4), whereas SR4 typically supports up to 100 m on OM4.

Q: What MPO polarity is required?
A: Use an MTP/MPO-12 Type-B (key-up to key-up) trunk. The module port is unpinned (female).

Q: Can I use OM3 cabling?
A: OM3 may operate at reduced distances; OM4 is recommended to achieve the stated reach.

Q: Is breakout to lower speeds supported?
A: Yes, it can be used for 4x50G breakout with appropriate fanout cabling and switch configuration.
