Description

High-density passive copper breakout for short-reach, low-latency spine/leaf and TOR-to-server links. Splits one QSFP-DD 400G port into up to eight SFP lanes for 50/25GbE (platform-dependent). Tool-less, hot-pluggable design minimizes power and latency compared to optical links. Ideal for intra-rack cabling where cable management and airflow matter.

Features

- Low-latency, zero-power passive copper design
- High-density QSFP-DD to 8x SFP breakout for flexible server uplinks
- Standards-based 400GBASE-CR8/50GBASE-CR compliance for interoperability
- Durable twinax construction optimized for short-reach reliability
- Hot-pluggable for simplified serviceability
- Ideal for TOR and leaf-spine architectures
- Reduced cost versus optical alternatives
- Simplified cable management for high-density racks

Warranty

All products sold by XS Network Tech include a 12-month warranty on both new and used items. Our in-house technical team thoroughly tests used hardware prior to sale to ensure enterprise-grade reliability.

FAQs

Technical Specifications

FAQs

Q: Is this cable active or passive?
A: It is a passive copper twinax DAC breakout with no active components.

Q: What ports are required for the breakout ends?
A: A QSFP-DD 400G port on one end and eight SFP-form-factor ports that support the intended lane speed (typically 50GbE; some platforms may support 25GbE).

Q: Does this replace separate transceivers?
A: Yes. As a DAC, it plugs directly into the ports; no separate optical transceivers are required.

Q: Can this be used across racks?
A: It is designed for short-reach connections. At 1 m, it is best suited for intra-rack or adjacent equipment.

Q: Is it hot-pluggable?
A: Yes, it is hot-pluggable on supported hardware.
