Description

The Cisco Headset 522 is a wired, dual-ear professional headset from the Cisco Headset 500 Series, built for people who spend long periods on voice calls in open workspaces. It is optimised for Cisco IP phones, Webex Desk devices and soft clients, and also works with PC and Mac.

The headset ends in a 3.5 mm connector and has an in-line USB-A adapter and controller. The controller provides answer, end, reject, hold/resume, mute/unmute and volume up/down. Earpiece bandwidth is 50 Hz to 18 kHz, and the unidirectional electret condenser microphone focuses on the wearer's voice to reduce background noise. With the USB adapter in use you also get acoustic spike protection to over 118 dB and an LED in-call presence indicator on each ear plate. It weighs 104 g and has an overall cord length of approximately 2.67 m.

It works with Cisco IP phones, Webex Desk Series, Cisco Jabber and the Webex App. Enhanced features such as microphone testing, audio shaping and remote management through Cisco Unified Communications Manager or Webex Control Hub need the USB adapter and a compatible Cisco device or software version. This is the dual-ear USB-A version. The single-ear Headset 521 and the USB-C Headset 522 are separate SKUs.

FAQs

Q: Does this headset need a licence or subscription?
A: No. The headset itself needs no licence or subscription. Management features need a compatible Cisco IP phone, Jabber, Cisco Unified Communications Manager or Webex Control Hub.

Q: Does it need a separate power supply?
A: No. It is powered over the USB-A or 3.5 mm connection, so no separate power supply is required.

Q: What devices does it work with?
A: It works with Cisco IP phones, Webex Desk Series, Cisco Jabber, the Webex App and Webex Meetings, and with PC and Mac. The enhanced features need the USB adapter and a compatible Cisco IP phone, firmware or Jabber version.

Q: Which features need the USB-A adapter?
A: Acoustic spike protection to over 118 dB, the LED in-call presence indicators, the in-line call controls, and microphone testing and audio shaping need the USB adapter. The 3.5 mm connector alone provides standard audio.

Q: How does the 522 differ from the 521 and the USB-C version?
A: The 522 is the dual-ear model with a 3.5 mm connector and USB-A adapter. The single-ear version is the CP-HS-W-521-USB, and the USB-C version of the 522 is the CP-HS-W-522-USBC.

Q: Are replacement ear pads available?
A: Yes. Spare ear pads are available as CP-HS-W-5EC8= in an 8-pack.
