Description

The ASR 9000 20-port 10 Gigabit Ethernet modular port adapter (MPA) adds 20 x 10GE SFP+ interfaces to compatible Cisco ASR 9000 Series modular line cards. It is hot-swappable and requires SFP+ optics to be installed in each port. Suited to aggregation and service provider deployments carrying video on demand, IPTV, Internet video and cloud-based computing traffic.

A: No. The A9K-MPA-20X10GE is a modular port adapter that installs into an ASR 9000 Series modular line card and cannot operate standalone.

A: No. Each of the 20 ports requires an SFP+ optic to be fitted separately, so you can choose the reach and media type that suits your deployment.

Q: What IOS XR software version is required?
A: A minimum of Cisco IOS XR 5.3.2 is required on 400G modular line cards, and IOS XR 6.0.1 on 200G modular line cards.

Q: Does it support MACsec encryption?
