Description

This 16-port 100 Gigabit Ethernet QSFP28 line card is built for ASR 9000 Series routers and is the Packet Transport Optimized (TR) version with basic QoS. It delivers full line-rate, non-oversubscribed 100GE density in any chassis slot, and the QSFP ports also support 40GE, 50GE, 25GE and 10GE interface modes. Suited to high-capacity aggregation and core transport deployments where bandwidth demand from video, IPTV and cloud traffic is growing.

Q: Which ASR 9000 chassis is this line card compatible with?
A: It is compatible with the ASR 9006, 9010, 9904, 9906, 9910, 9912 and 9922 chassis. Depending on the chassis, fabric, route processor and cooling may need upgrading, and the ASR 9922 requires Fan Tray V3.

Q: What does the TR designation mean?
A: TR stands for Packet Transport Optimized. This version offers basic QoS and lower scale than the SE version, making it well suited to high-throughput transport and core roles.

Q: Can the ports run at speeds other than 100GE?
A: Yes. The QSFP ports support 100GE, 40GE, 50GE, 25GE and 10GE interface modes, and interface types can be mixed on the same line card. Modes are configured via CLI without resetting the line card.
