Description

The Cisco ASR 9900 Route Processor 3 for Service Edge is a next-generation system route processor for the ASR 9912 and ASR 9922 routers, running Cisco IOS XR. It pairs an 8-core 2 GHz processor with 40GB of ECC-protected DRAM, giving the Service Edge variant more memory than the Packet Transport variant with 16GB for large-scale service deployments. It supports high-density 100G and 400G Ethernet line cards and controls up to seven ASR 9900 switch fabric cards, with built-in GPS and IEEE 1588 timing connections for network synchronisation.
