This 14-port serial interface module for the Cisco ASR 900 Series provides synchronous and asynchronous RS-232 connectivity for legacy serial devices. With Raw Socket support, it can transport async serial protocols such as SCADA across IP/MPLS networks. It suits utility, transport and industrial aggregation deployments migrating from serial-based equipment to IP-enabled devices.

A: It is supported in the ASR 900 Series, including the ASR 907 in slots 3, 4, 7, 8, 11 and 12.

A: It requires an RSP2 (A900-RSP2A-128 or A900-RSP2A-64) running Cisco IOS XE 3.16.0S or later. It is not supported on RSP1.
