Description

The ONS 15216 48-channel DWDM mux/demux patch panel is a passive optical component for the Cisco ONS 15216 DWDM System. It combines or separates 48 C-band wavelengths on a single fibre pair, making it suited to point-to-point DWDM links, hub nodes for open rings, multiplex add/drop for multi-degree ROADMs and data centre interconnect.

This is the even grid, standard bandwidth (non-extended) model. It carries 48 channels at 100 GHz spacing across 196.05 to 191.35 THz (1529.16 to 1566.72 nm). Insertion loss at beginning of life is 3.0 to 6.0 dB for demux and 4.0 to 6.0 dB for mux. Adjacent channel isolation is 20.0 dB minimum on demux and 17.0 dB minimum on mux. Optical ports are LC/UPC, and a USB Type A port supports passive inventory management. The athermal AWG design needs no electrical power or temperature control.

It works with 50 GHz and 100 GHz WXC cards in ONS 15454 DWDM systems. Pair it with the 15216-MD-48-ODD panel for 96-channel capacity, or add an interleaver/deinterleaver module when used with 50 GHz cards.
