FAQs

Q: Does this switch require feature licenses to enable L3/EVPN?
A: No additional feature licenses are required for core L2/L3, VSX, and EVPN‑VXLAN on AOS‑CX. Optional Aruba Central subscriptions are available for cloud management.

Q: Are the QSFP28 uplinks compatible with 40G optics?
A: Yes. The QSFP28 ports support 100G and are backward compatible with 40G optics; they also support breakout to 4x25G (100G) where applicable.

Q: Is physical stacking supported?
A: This platform uses VSX for high availability and multi‑chassis LAG rather than traditional backplane stacking.

Q: Does it provide PoE on the RJ‑45 ports?
A: No. The 1/10GBASE‑T ports are data‑only with no PoE.

Q: Which management interfaces are available?
A: Full-featured CLI, Web UI, REST API/NetEdit, and automation via Ansible are supported; Aruba Central can be used for cloud-based monitoring and configuration.

Q: What transceivers are supported on the uplinks?
A: QSFP28 100G modules (SR4, LR4, CWDM4, DAC/AOC) and QSFP+ 40G modules where backward compatibility is required.

Q: Can the 10GBASE‑T ports downshift to 1G or 100M?
A: Yes. They auto‑negotiate 100M/1G/10G speeds per port.
