Description

The X2C2 RJ45 to DB9 console cable is a serial rollover cable for Aruba networking environments. It gives engineers a direct out-of-band management link to the console port of Aruba and HPE devices from a laptop or PC.

One end terminates in an RJ45 connector for the device console port and the other in a DB9 connector for a host serial port. The X2C2 designation identifies this particular RJ45 to DB9 console cable variant, so it is easy to tell apart from other Aruba serial cable types.

It suits initial configuration, recovery and ongoing serial management of Aruba switches, and works with other Aruba networking devices that use an RJ45 console port. A host with a DB9 serial port is required.

Enquire with XS Network Tech for new or used pricing and availability.

FAQs

Q: What devices does this console cable work with?
A: It connects to the RJ45 console port on Aruba and HPE ProCurve switches and other Aruba networking devices that use an RJ45 console port.

Q: What do I need on the computer side?
A: The cable ends in a DB9 connector, so the host needs a DB9 serial port. A USB-to-serial adapter can be used where the computer has no serial port.

Q: What is this cable used for?
A: It is used for initial configuration and out-of-band serial management of Aruba switches, giving direct console access without a network connection.

Q: How does this differ from a standard Ethernet cable?
A: Although it uses an RJ45 connector, this is a serial rollover console cable with a DB9 end. It is not intended for carrying network traffic.
