Description

This 25GbE SFP28 optical transceiver supports 25GBASE-LR, transmitting at 1310nm over single-mode fibre with a duplex LC connector. It is designed for reaches of up to 10km, making it suited to campus, metro and data centre interconnects where 25G links need to span longer distances than multimode optics allow. The 25GBASE-LR specification differentiates it from shorter-reach 25G optics in the same SFP28 form factor.

Enquire with XS Network Tech for new or used pricing and availability.

Features

- 25GBASE-LR optical interface for 25GbE links
- 1310nm single-mode transmission for reaches up to 10km
- SFP28 form factor for high-density 25G ports
- Duplex LC connector for standard SMF patching

Warranty

All products sold by XS Network Tech include a 12-month warranty on both new and used items. Our in-house technical team thoroughly tests used hardware prior to sale to ensure enterprise-grade reliability.

FAQs

Q: What fibre type does the SFP-25G-LR require?
A: It operates over single-mode fibre (SMF) with duplex LC connectors, at a wavelength of 1310nm.

Q: What is the maximum reach of this transceiver?
A: It supports distances of up to 10km over single-mode fibre.

Q: What data rate does this SFP28 module support?
A: It is a 25GbE module conforming to the 25GBASE-LR standard.

Q: Can it be used in a standard SFP+ port?
A: The module uses the SFP28 form factor and is intended for ports that support 25GbE SFP28 optics. Check the host port's supported speeds before deployment.

Q: How does it differ from a short-reach 25G optic?
A: The 25GBASE-LR optic runs at 1310nm over single-mode fibre for up to 10km, while short-reach 25G optics are intended for multimode fibre over much shorter distances.
