FAQs

Q: What is the maximum transmission distance for the QDD-800G-2PLR4?
A: The QDD-800G-2PLR4 supports transmission distances up to 10km over parallel single-mode fibre using dual MPO-12 APC connectors.

Q: Can this transceiver interoperate with 400G modules?
A: Yes, the QDD-800G-2PLR4 can interoperate with 2x 400G-PLR4 OSFP or QSFP-DD transceivers, and can also break out to 8x 100GBASE-LR QSFP connections for flexible deployment options.

Q: What platforms support this 800G transceiver?
A: The QDD-800G-2PLR4 is compatible with Arista 800G QSFP-DD platforms such as the 7060X6 and 7800R4 series switches. Check your specific platform datasheet to confirm QSFP-DD 800G port support and power capacity.

Q: What is the power consumption of this module?
A: The QDD-800G-2PLR4 has a typical power consumption of approximately 16W, which is standard for 800G QSFP-DD optical transceivers. Ensure your platform can support the higher power requirements of 800G modules.

Q: Can I use this transceiver in a 400G port?
A: No, the 800G-2PLR4 transceiver is not dual-rate capable and cannot operate in 400G ports. It requires native 800G QSFP-DD ports with sufficient power delivery and cooling capacity.
