FAQs

Q: What breakout configurations does the QDD-800G-2LR4 support?
A: This transceiver supports 800G native operation, 2x 400GBASE-LR4 breakout, and 2x 200GBASE-LR4 breakout. Each of the dual duplex LC connectors can connect directly to a separate 400G LR4 or 200G LR4 module without requiring breakout cables.

Q: Is this transceiver compatible with other vendor equipment?
A: Yes, the QDD-800G-2LR4 is designed to industry-standard MSA specifications and is interoperable with 400G LR4 and 200G LR4 modules in both QSFP-DD and OSFP form factors from multiple vendors, ensuring broad compatibility across data center environments.

Q: What fiber type is required for 10km transmission?
A: This transceiver requires OS2 single-mode fiber (SMF) with duplex LC/UPC connectors to achieve the maximum 10km transmission distance per the 2x 400GBASE-LR4 specification.

Q: Can this module operate in OSFP ports?
A: No, the QDD-800G-2LR4 uses the QSFP-DD form factor and is designed for QSFP-DD800 ports. Arista also offers an equivalent OSFP version (OSFP-800G-2LR4) for OSFP-equipped platforms.

Q: What is the typical power consumption of this transceiver?
A: The QDD-800G-2LR4 has a maximum power consumption of approximately 18W, making it suitable for high-density deployments where power and thermal management are critical considerations.
