Description

The PWR-500AC-R is a hot-swappable 500W AC power supply module for Arista fixed-configuration data centre switches, including the 7050X and 7280 families. It accepts 100-240V AC input and delivers a +12V main output with rear-to-front (reverse) airflow, suiting hot and cold aisle layouts where switch ports face the hot aisle. Two modules can be installed together for redundant N+1 operation.

FAQs

Q: What airflow direction does the PWR-500AC-R provide?
A: It provides rear-to-front (reverse) airflow. Make sure the airflow direction matches that of the switch and the fans in your chassis to maintain correct cooling.

Q: Which Arista switches is this power supply compatible with?
A: It is designed for Arista fixed-configuration data centre switches in the 7050X, 7280, 7160 and 7020R series.

Q: Can the power supply be replaced while the switch is running?
A: Yes. The module is hot-swappable, so it can be replaced without interrupting switch operation when a second supply is carrying the load.

Q: Does it support redundant power configurations?
A: Yes. Installing two modules provides N+1 redundant operation, so the switch stays powered if one supply is removed or fails.

Q: What AC input range does it accept?
A: It accepts 100-240V AC at 50-60Hz, with an input current of 6.5-3A.
