Description

The 7320X-32C is a 32-port QSFP100 line card for the Arista 7320X Series modular data centre switches. It suits large leaf and spine networks, collapsed spine designs and scale-out east-west traffic, and gives a clear path when migrating from 10/40G to 25/100G.

Every QSFP100 port can run as 1x100GbE or 1x40GbE, or break out to 4x10GbE, 4x25GbE or 2x50GbE with breakout cables or optics. A single card therefore provides 32 x 100GbE interfaces, or up to 128 x 10GbE or 25GbE, or 64 x 50GbE. The card delivers up to 6.4 Tbps with a 32MB packet buffer and supports up to 104K IPv4 host routes. Nominal power draw is 219W per card, supplied by the chassis. It runs Arista EOS and is a hot-swappable module.

This line card fits the 7324X 4-slot and 7328X 8-slot chassis only. A fully populated 7328X holds 8 line cards for 256 x 100G ports, while the 7324X holds 4 for 128 x 100G ports. Ports accept QSFP28 and QSFP+ transceivers and cables.

FAQs

Q: Which chassis does this line card fit?
A: It fits the Arista 7320X Series chassis only, which are the 7324X 4-slot and the 7328X 8-slot models.

Q: Can the ports run at speeds other than 100GbE?
A: Yes. Each QSFP100 port supports 1x100GbE or 1x40GbE, and with breakout cables or optics it can run 4x10GbE, 4x25GbE or 2x50GbE.

Q: What transceivers and cables do the ports accept?
A: Each port accepts QSFP28 (100GbE) and QSFP+ (40GbE) transceivers and cables, along with breakout cables or optics for 10, 25 and 50GbE.

Q: How much power does the line card draw?
A: Nominal power is 219W per card. Power is supplied by the chassis, and the 7320X Series typically draws under 17W per 100GbE port in a fully loaded system.

Q: How many 100G ports can I get from a fully populated chassis?
A: A 7328X with 8 of these line cards provides 256 x 100G ports. A 7324X with 4 provides 128 x 100G ports.
