Description

The Arista 7050SX is a 1RU 10/40GbE data centre switch built for top-of-rack leaf and spine roles in leaf-spine fabrics, high-performance compute, big data and cloud environments. It also suits teams migrating from 1/10G to 10/40G.

This DCS-7050SX-64-D# model provides 48 x 1/10GbE SFP+ ports and 4 x 40GbE QSFP+ ports, with 1.28 Tbps of throughput, 960 Mpps forwarding and latency from 550 ns. A 12MB shared packet buffer uses Dynamic Buffer Allocation, and this SKU includes the onboard SSD for logs and data captures. It is supplied without fans or power supplies, so those are chosen separately and set the airflow direction. Typical power draw is 140W, with a maximum of 220W.

The chassis takes two hot-swap PSUs (1+1) and four hot-swap fans (N+1). Compatible PSUs are PWR-500AC-F/R and PWR-500-DC-F/R, and compatible fans are FAN-7000-F/R. It runs Arista EOS 4.14.0 or later, with optional feature licences sold separately for Enhanced L3, virtualisation, and monitoring and automation.
