Description

This passive twinax copper direct attach cable has a QSFP100 (QSFP28) connector on each end and carries 100GbE over IEEE 802.3 100GBASE-CR4 links. At 3 metres it suits short-reach top-of-rack and HPC connections between Arista QSFP100 ports. It is part of Arista's 100G QSFP twinax copper cable family and offers a cost-effective alternative to optical links for in-rack and adjacent-rack runs.

Enquire with XS Network Tech for new or used pricing and availability.

FAQs

Q: What is the maximum reach of this cable?
A: This is a 3 metre passive twinax copper cable for 100GBASE-CR4 links, intended for short-reach connections between QSFP100 ports.

Q: Does it need FEC to be enabled?
A: Reed-Solomon (RS) FEC should be used for IEEE 802.3 compliance on 100GBASE-CR4 links.

Q: Which EOS version is required?
A: The minimum EOS version listed for the CAB-Q-Q-100G cable family is 4.15.2.

Q: Is it supported on every Arista QSFP100 port?
A: No. It is not supported on the QSFP100 ports of the 7280SRAM-48C6 and 7280CR2M-30 due to a copper cable restriction on those ports.

Q: Can this cable be used at 40G?
A: Yes, it can also operate at 40G in 100G QSFP ports. The reverse does not apply, as 40G cables cannot be used for 100G.
