Description

The Arista CAB-Q-2Q-100G-3M is a passive twinax copper breakout cable that connects one 100G QSFP28 port (100GBASE-CR4) to two 50G QSFP ports (50GBASE-CR2). It suits short-reach top-of-rack and adjacent-rack links where a 100G switch port needs to feed two 50G endpoints, such as 50G server NICs.

The cable splits the four lanes of a 100G port into two 2-lane 50G links over a 3 metre run. It is a passive copper design with no active electronics, so it draws power from the host port only. The connector arrangement is QSFP to 2x QSFP, and the same family is offered in 1, 2, 3 and 5 metre lengths, with this SKU being the 3 metre option.

It requires Arista EOS 4.22.1 or later. It is intended for Arista QSFP100 and QSFP200 ports configurable as 2x 50G-2, and for 50G-2 QSFP interfaces such as those found on some 50G NICs.
