Description

This passive twinax copper breakout cable splits one 400G OSFP port into eight 50G SFP56 connections over a 2 metre reach. It carries 8x 50G PAM-4 electrical lanes for 400 Gbps aggregate and suits short server-to-switch and leaf-spine links in Arista environments. The passive design keeps power consumption and latency very low, and the 2m length is suited to in-rack and adjacent-rack runs.

Enquire with XS Network Tech for new or used pricing and availability.

Features

- Passive design with no active components, giving very low power consumption and latency
- Fans one 400G OSFP port out to eight independent 50G SFP ports
- Detected and enabled automatically when inserted into Arista switches
- Suited to connecting Arista switches to non-Arista equipment such as server ports
- Also available in 1 m and 3 m lengths

Warranty

All products sold by XS Network Tech include a 12-month warranty on both new and used items. Our in-house technical team thoroughly tests used hardware prior to sale to ensure enterprise-grade reliability.

FAQs

Q: What port does the 400G end of this cable require?
A: The 400G end is an OSFP connector, so it needs an OSFP port. It cannot be used in QSFP-DD ports.

Q: How many connections does this cable provide?
A: It breaks one 400G OSFP port out into eight 50G SFP56 connections, using 8x 50G PAM-4 electrical lanes.

Q: Is this an active or passive cable?
A: It is a passive twinax copper cable with no active components, which keeps power consumption and latency very low.

Q: What Arista EOS version is required?
A: The minimum Arista EOS version is 4.23.0.

Q: Can it connect to non-Arista equipment such as servers?
A: Yes. The SFP56 ends are suited to connecting Arista switches to non-Arista equipment such as server ports that support 50GBASE-CR.
