Description

This passive twinax copper breakout cable connects one 400G OSFP port to two 200G QSFP56 ports over a 3 metre run. It suits short-reach links in data centre, AI and HPC racks, whether inside a single rack or between adjacent racks.

The cable uses 400GBASE-CR8 on the OSFP end, split into two 200GBASE-CR4 QSFP56 connections. It has a passive copper construction with no active electronics, a pull tab release and a hot-swappable pluggable form factor. No licence or subscription is required. The OSFP end measures 13.0 x 22.6 x 100.4 mm and each QSFP end measures 13.5 x 18.4 x 72.4 mm, and the cable operates at a case temperature of 0 to 70 C.

It requires a minimum of EOS 4.23.0. The OSFP end plugs into a 400G OSFP port and the two QSFP ends into 200G QSFP56 ports, so one 400G switch port can feed two 200G switch or NIC ports. It sits in Arista's 400G OSFP twinax range alongside OSFP-to-OSFP, 4x100G and 8x SFP breakout options.
