Description

This Arista passive twinax copper breakout cable connects one 400G OSFP port (400GBASE-CR8) to two 200G QSFP56 ports (200GBASE-CR4). It suits short in-rack or adjacent-rack data centre links, for example from a 400G OSFP switch port to two 200G QSFP56 ports on switches or NICs.

The cable is 2 metres long, terminated with an OSFP connector on one end that splits into two QSFP connectors on the other. As a passive copper design it needs no external power, and it offers a cost-effective short-reach alternative to optical transceivers and fibre. The 2 metre length is one of three lengths offered in this family, alongside 1 and 3 metres.

It is part of Arista's portfolio of standards-based optics and cables for 400 Gigabit Ethernet OSFP twinax links.
