Description

This passive copper twinax direct attach breakout cable connects one 400G QSFP-DD port to eight 50G SFP56 ports over a 1m reach. It supports 400GBASE-CR8 and 50GBASE-CR signalling and suits short-reach top-of-rack connections between a high-density 400G switch and multiple 50G servers or devices. The passive copper construction needs no optics and has no wavelength.

Enquire with XS Network Tech for new or used pricing and availability.

FAQs

Q: What does this cable connect?
A: It connects a single 400G QSFP-DD port on one end to eight 50G SFP56 ports on the other end using a passive copper twinax breakout.

Q: Is this an active or passive cable?
A: It is a passive copper twinax direct attach cable, so it has no optical components and no wavelength.

Q: What is the maximum reach?
A: This model is 1m in length, intended for short-reach connections within a rack or to adjacent equipment.

Q: What speeds does each breakout leg run at?
A: Each of the eight SFP56 legs runs at 50G, which together correspond to the 400G QSFP-DD side under 400GBASE-CR8 / 50GBASE-CR.
