Description

Passive DAC breakout enabling 200G aggregation to four 50G links over short distances. QSFP-DD host end fans out to four QSFP28 50G CR2 connectors for flexible distribution to switches or servers. Eliminates optics, lowering latency, cost, and complexity.

Features

- 2m passive twinax for flexible short-reach deployments
- Low TCO versus optical transceivers
- Ultra-low latency and minimal power draw
- Standards-based 200G/50G CR breakout interoperability
- Robust molded connectors for repeated insertions

Warranty

All products sold by XS Network Tech include a 12-month warranty on both new and used items. Our in-house technical team thoroughly tests used hardware prior to sale to ensure enterprise-grade reliability.

All technical data should be verified on the manufacturer data sheets.

FAQs

Q: Do I need to configure breakout on the switch?
A: Yes, most platforms require enabling 200G to 4x50G breakout per port.

Q: Is this suitable for TOR leaf/spine links?
A: Yes, it’s designed for short-reach intra-rack or adjacent-rack links.

Q: Does it support auto-negotiation?
A: It supports the standard link training for CR links; behavior depends on the host platform.

Q: Can I connect to NICs with QSFP28 50G ports?
A: Yes, provided the NIC supports 50G CR2 over QSFP28.

Q: What’s the difference vs AOC?
A: DAC is copper and passive for very low cost and latency; AOC is optical and supports longer distances.
