Description

This Arista passive twinax copper breakout cable connects one 400G QSFP-DD port (400GBASE-CR8) to two 200G QSFP56 ports (2x 200GBASE-CR4) over a 2 metre run. It suits short-reach links in data centres, such as top-of-rack or adjacent-rack connections from a 400G switch port to 200G servers or switches.

The cable has a single QSFP-DD connector at one end that splits into two QSFP56 connectors at the other, each carrying 200G. The 400G side uses 8 x 50G PAM4 lanes. Being passive twinax copper, it has no active gearbox, and it is hot swappable. It operates over a case temperature range of 0 to 70 C and meets IEEE 802.3 Ethernet and QSFP-DD MSA standards.
