Description

Passive breakout DAC for high-density 200G-to-2x100G connectivity. QSFP-DD (CR8, 8x25G NRZ) on the host side breaks out to two QSFP28 100G (CR4, 4x25G NRZ) legs. Ideal for top-of-rack to servers/NICs or switch-to-switch breakouts where ultra-low latency, low power, and short-reach reliability are required.

Features

- Simple, cost-effective 200G-to-2x100G breakout
- Ultra-low latency and minimal power (passive copper)
- MSA-compliant QSFP-DD and QSFP28 interfaces
- High signal integrity over short reach (2.5 m)
- Ideal for dense TOR and leaf/spine deployments
- Hot-swappable for fast serviceability

Warranty

All products sold by XS Network Tech include a 12-month warranty on both new and used items. Our in-house technical team thoroughly tests used hardware prior to sale to ensure enterprise-grade reliability.

All technical data should be verified on the manufacturer data sheets.

FAQs

Q: Is this cable active or passive?
A: It is a passive twinax DAC; it draws no power and offers ultra-low latency.

Q: What devices is it compatible with?
A: Any 200G QSFP-DD port that supports 2x100G breakout and 100G QSFP28 ports on the split legs. Some platforms enforce vendor coding—verify support for this coding on your device.

Q: What signaling does it use?
A: QSFP-DD side: 8x25G NRZ (200GBASE-CR8). Each QSFP28 leg: 4x25G NRZ (100GBASE-CR4).

Q: Can I use this for switch-to-server connections?
A: Yes, it is commonly used to connect a 200G switch port to two 100G server NICs.

Q: Do I need optical modules?
A: No. This is a direct-attach copper cable; no separate optics are required.

Q: Does the switch need special configuration?
A: Your switch must support 2x100G breakout on the QSFP-DD 200G port; enable breakout per vendor guidelines.
