Description

The 25G SFP28 active optical cable is a 3m SFP28-to-SFP28 interconnect with embedded optical transceivers running at 850nm over multimode fibre. It suits short data centre links such as top-of-rack switching and storage interconnects, where it replaces copper DACs with a lighter, more flexible cable that is less susceptible to EMI. This 3m length is the variant to choose for rack-to-rack or adjacent-rack runs within SR reach.

Enquire with XS Network Tech for new or used pricing and availability.

FAQs

Q: What type of connector does this cable use?
A: It has an SFP28 connector on both ends, so it connects directly between two SFP28 ports.

Q: What speed does this cable support?
A: It supports 25 Gbps (25GBASE-AOC) over multimode fibre at 850nm.

Q: How does an AOC differ from a copper DAC?
A: An active optical cable uses embedded optical transceivers over fibre, making it lighter and more flexible than copper DACs and less susceptible to EMI.

Q: Where is a 3m 25G AOC typically used?
A: It is typically used for short data centre links, including top-of-rack switching and storage interconnects.
