Description

This 25GbE SFP28 to SFP28 active optical cable provides a 30m pre-terminated link over 850nm multimode fibre. It suits short-reach 25G connections between Arista switches and servers, and offers a lighter, more flexible alternative to copper direct attach cabling. The 30m length makes it the longest option in the 25GBASE-AOC range, suited to cross-row and cross-rack runs in data centres.

Enquire with XS Network Tech for new or used pricing and availability.

FAQs

Q: What speed does this cable support?
A: It supports 25 Gigabit Ethernet (25GBASE-AOC) using SFP28 connectors at both ends.

Q: What length is this AOC?
A: This model is 30m, the longest length in Arista's 25GBASE-AOC range, which starts at 3m.

Q: Does it use single-mode or multimode fibre?
A: It runs over 850nm multimode fibre, intended for short-reach links within a data centre.

Q: How does an AOC differ from a DAC?
A: An active optical cable has optics built into each connector and uses fibre, so it is lighter and more flexible than copper DAC and can reach longer distances.

Q: Do I need separate transceivers?
A: No. The SFP28 optical modules are integrated into the cable ends, so it plugs directly into SFP28 ports.
