Description

This 10GbE SFP+ active optical cable provides a direct-attach link with a 30m reach over 850nm multimode fibre. The integrated SFP+ connectors at each end make it a simple, low power option for short-reach 10 Gigabit connections between switches, servers and storage in data centre and enterprise racks. The 30m length suits row-to-row and cross-rack runs where passive copper cabling is too short.

Enquire with XS Network Tech for new or used pricing and availability.

FAQs

Q: What is the maximum reach of this cable?
A: This cable is a fixed 30m assembly, designed for 10GbE links over 850nm multimode fibre.

Q: Do I need separate transceivers with this cable?
A: No. The SFP+ connectors are integrated at each end, so it plugs directly into SFP+ ports without separate optics.

Q: What type of fibre does this cable use?
A: It uses 850nm multimode fibre (MMF) within the active optical cable assembly.

Q: When should I choose an active optical cable over passive copper DAC?
A: An active optical cable is a good choice when you need a longer run than passive copper direct-attach allows, such as 30m between racks or rows, while keeping power draw low.
